Pulse Financial Services 2017 3rd Quarter Sponsorship

Welcome to our Pulse Gives Back Sponsorship Page!

We are honored to share the story of PFS’ Client, Pete Orloff of Aurora, IL.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about A.D.O.P.T. (Animals Deserving of Proper Treatment).  It is located in Naperville, IL at 420 Industrial Drive.

A.D.O.P.T. is a private, “no-kill”, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has found homes for

One of the Dogs Up for Adoption

more than 20,000 pets.  We provide a temporary, loving home for dogs and cats that no longer have a family of their own.  The animals in our shelter have ended up here for a variety of reasons ranging from abandonment, to rescue from an abusive situation, to owner surrender because they no longer are able to take care of them.  Our animals are loving, family pets who are desperately awaiting for their forever home.

A.D.O.P.T. was founded in 1989 by a group of dedicated volunteers determined to find homes for animals in need.  Over the years, our objective has remained the same:  to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.

We also offer a low cost vaccine clinic for those in need.

Rebecca and Her Kittens

I started volunteering at A.D.O.P.T. a few months after my husband passed away.  This wonderful place, the staff, volunteers and animals have proven to be just the help I needed in getting through a very rough time.  I currently volunteer once a week on the cat side, cleaning the rooms and socializing with the cats/kittens.  Even when you are having a very bad day it’s hard to stay down when you have a bunch of friendly kittens crawling all over you.  I recently brought home a pregnant cat to foster.  Rebecca had four kittens on Easter morning (on the white carpet in my closet, ugh).  Rebecca and her babies are with me for a few more weeks.

There are many ways to help this wonderful organization.  Of course donations are always wonderful as it costs about $1600 per day to keep us running.  Some of the other opportunities include:

Animal Care -Volunteer at the shelter caring for the animals. This includes providing animals with fresh food and water, cleaning the kennels/cages and dog runs, leash-walking dogs, grooming those animals in need, and providing ample love and attention to our shelter animals. Individuals can volunteer with cats, with dogs, or both.  Or you can get involved in the Foster Program, be a Front Desk Greeter, help with Data Entry, Facility Maintenance, Marketing and Public Relations, Social Media or Fundraising.

Their website is adoptpetshelter.org.  I hope you can find it in your heart to help these wonderful animals in some way.
